 The Butcher's Dog Micropub

REAL ALE IN A REAL PUB

Next time you’re in Driffield, come and ‘have a butcher’s’ at our characterful micropub.

It’s CAMRA accredited, and the best place in town to enjoy the absolute best cask ale from across the region alongside real cider, fine wine and traditional pub snacks.

A small, independent freehouse that’s packed with character, The Butcher’s Dog is open 7 days a week for you to come and enjoy a quiet drink and a chat in friendly company - it’s a world away from your average chain pub.

THE BUTCHER'S DOG DIFFERENCE

When we opened The Butcher’s Dog, we wanted to go back to basics – quality ale and quality conversation in a friendly environment.

We don’t serve any lager or spirits, there’s no WIFI, we don’t have a pool table, we don’t play loud music and there are no screens in sight!

Step inside, and you’ll find a cosy, friendly and welcoming freehouse – well stocked with a range of The Butcher’s Dog beers, local guest ales, traditional craft cider and fine wine.

 YOUR HOSTESS...

Natalie Briglin (Nat) has worked in pubs all over East Yorkshire for the last 8 years, working her way up to be a manager at one of the UK’s well-known brewery chain pubs, before deciding to launch The Butcher’s Dog, Driffield’s first ever micropub.
She wanted to prove that a well-run, traditional pub could still survive in today’s climate, especially if it offered fine ales, ciders and good wines, in a cosy, friendly environment. Driffield is a market town steeped in tradition and some of its pubs have been there for years, although the town has seen many closing down in recent times. So, Nat decided to take over a building that many years ago had been a butcher’s shop, and transformed it into a micropub!

Nat runs the pub on a day-to-day basis with her partner Tim, sourcing and selecting all of the ales, ciders and wines herself. She loves her pub and hopes that the residents of Driffield and surrounding areas will too!
